HEA MEMBERS We are calling on you for help! Two Colorado cooperatives want to break their long-term power contracts with Tri-State Generation and Transmission (Tri-State) - our wholesale power provider. The Colorado Public Utility’s Commission (CoPUC) is considering a case to determine an exit fee for those two Colorado cooperatives.

Unfortunately, the CoPUC has not allowed any Colorado cooperative to be part of the case, except for the two cooperatives that originally filed. Basically, only 2 of the 17 Colorado cooperatives that receive wholesale power from Tri-State are providing input for a decision that will impact all 17. This will have significant impacts to your rates with no input being allowed from your cooperative.

We urgently ask you to send a letter to the CoPUC and CoPUC Director Doug Dean to express your disappointment and urge them to allow other co-ops inclusion in the discussion before the decision is rendered.

We have made it easy to do so, simply click the link on this post and follow the instructions.

Please take a moment to let the Colorado Public Utilities Commission know that your cooperative deserves a say in decisions that will impact your bills.

Thank you for being a Highline Member!
